Juicing for Less Pain!
When I am having moderate to severe pain, I throw a few peeled carrots, one big or two medium apples, a chunk of fresh ginger, one peeled lemon, 1 T of organic cinnamon and a few sprinkles of cayenne pepper, into the juice machine.
When I can no longer feel my lips and my mouth is on fire, I know that I have had as much as I needed!
When you juice, if you don't drink it fairly quick, it will separate and isn't as tasty. If that happens, just stir it and it will be fine.
Also, keep items that you are going to juice in the fridge because it is much easier to drink chilled juice then room temp.
Tasty Broccoli & Cayenne Recipe
Steamed broccoli is best but if you don't have a steamer,
then boil water with a drop of oil in it
to bring out the green in your broccoli.
Throw your broccoli in boiling water for 1 minute and 45 seconds.
Drain well.
Throw broccoli in a deep bowl, toss in some REAL butter
(not fake substitutes!),
sprinkle cayenne, garlic salt and Kraft Parmesan cheese.
Mix well, enjoy!
This is a great side dish for meals that include meatloaf,
chicken, mashed potatoes, rice and pasta!
P.S. I like my broccoli to be a little firm; if you do too, just know that if it old and soft, you should only boil it for 30-60 seconds or it'll be mushy. Stab a fork into the thickest part to test for your desired doneness.
Cayenne Pepper, Not Black Pepper
Due to cayenne's anti-inflammatory benefits, I've begun using cayenne instead of black pepper on foods that it will flatter.
Every little change that you make in the name of reduced pain is critical to, ready for this? REDUCING YOUR PAIN!
People, it's so much easier to expend energy on pain reduction than it is to be depleted by pain...I don't like raw carrots but I juice'em and drink'em.
When I cook them, I now cover them liberally, with cayenne.
Successful pain management isn't about just one thing; it is about everything that you can do in your day to day living that add up to less pain.
